Ali Niknam
Ali Niknam is founder and chief executive officer of Bunq. He invested personal capital to obtain a Dutch banking licence after founding TransIP and The Datacenter Group.1
Career
Born in 1981 in Windsor, Ontario, and raised in the Netherlands, Niknam built bunq from 2012 into an EEA-wide mobile bank with multi-currency accounts, local IBANs and a sustainability-oriented brand. Bunq later acquired Tricount and pursued high-profile AML compliance debates.
